Amara has started to outgrow all of her Disney Princess costumes and she has now started to focus more on the Barbie Princesses and their costumes — beautiful, fancy dresses that are more grownup and fashionable. So a couple of weeks ago Amara, her Mommy and I went to The Goodwill and picked out 3 fabulous dresses that she could keep at Grandma’s house for playing dress up. This weekend she put on a wonderful Fashion Show for Grandpa – aka the Paparazzi. I was the announcer and Grandpa and the bears were her audience. When Mommy and Daddy brought her over I had her gowns all laid out for her complete with 2 new Barbie Fashion Tale Books! She was thrilled!
The Fashion Show was planned for Sunday morning. This gave us plenty of time for a bubble bath and to wash and dry her hair. She brought her makeup with her and she looked so grown up! Her audience was very patient with us as we had to take a brief intermission between each gown to get changed. We had a blast!

Oh my gosh! She looks so grown up! What happened to our little girl???
This was a great idea, and you can see she was having the time of her life! You and Rich are such wonderful grandparents! Amara is going to have some very special childhood memories!

Oh Baby Sister!
She is growing up so fast. She really has grown a lot this year! I was complaining to her the other day that she is growing up so fast and she says — I’m not THAT old Grandma! She is such a sweetheart! 1st grade!!!!
Very sweet! Little girls, to bigger girls, to big girls (like us) — we all like to play dress up!
I used to LOVE to play dress up! I still like getting dressed up but there sure is something special about it when you’re young (especially if you get to wear lipstick!)
I simply adore this! Everything about it!….the chance for a little girl to be a “princess,” the fun of shopping (thriftily!) for her wardrobe, and the best part – the self esteem that comes from having an audience that is perpetually in love with every step that pretty little girl takes!
Of course I am going to copy this idea from you! You know exactly how to nurture little girls into strong and happy young ladies!
I can’t wait to see the picture of Bree modeling her princess attire! You have so much fun in your future! The best part of thrift store gowns is that they don’t exactly fit perfectly – so they fit for a few years! Amara had all of those dresses on just a couple of weeks ago.
