Amara says a lot of silly things. One of my favorites was the time she patted me on the back and said “Its OK Grandma, you try.”
Yesterday Amara’s Mommy and I were discussing taking Shebee to the vet on Friday. Shebee is a beautiful, black, long haired cat that has adopted us. We I fought the adoption process for a long time out of concern for our other 2 cats but I finally caved. For my birthday Amara’s Mommy and Daddy gave me a gift certificate to take Shebee to the vets for all of her shots. It is a great gift and Friday will be Shebee’s big day.
I asked Amara if she wanted to go with us to take Shebee to the vet and it got a bit quiet. You could tell she was thinking and she asked if we are taking 2 cars. When her Mommy told her no she asked if the grown ups are going to sit in the front seat? I thought she was hoping that I would sit in the back with her. What she was thinking was that this meant Shebee got to sit in the back with her! She was so excited and she has promised she is going to talk to Shebee all the way there and back so that she won’t be afraid of going to a strange place. What a sweetheart!
My little sister always signs her emails with *Until one has loved an animal, part of their soul remains unawakened* I’m pretty sure Amara’s souls is wide awake!

Yes, she’s the best.
Will be thinking of you as Shebee goes in for her first vet visit! It will be all right.

How sweet of Amara to want to comfort Shebee on her first trip to the vet. Amara’s soul is definitely awake.
Isn’t it neat to see how those little minds work. It isn’t always easy to figure it out though. Hope it’s a smooth trip. Just like with my babies in the past, I’m usually more upset than the animal.
Having Amara there will certainly be a helpful distraction for Shebee and for Grandma! It won’t be nearly as exciting as watching baby chicks hatch! You are an amazing teacher to bring so much to your students and to your grandkids!
You can feel her sensivity in the photo.
How sweet and thoughtful!
So sweet. All kids should have an animal to love! They learn so much from the relationship. This photo sure says it all!

Yes. Not one bit surprised at Amara’s sensitivity and compassion. Been reading you long enough now to have predicted it!
I’m so glad you took Shebee in. She is beautiful – just like her mini-mistress! (Oh, and her REAL mistress too! Grandma Kc!)
Finally, your sweet sister is an animal lover after my own heart – bless her!
Ah, what a little sweetie! 🙂
Just precious. I think she inherited her grandmother’s heart.
Amara is such a love! Thanks for linking with me, see you tomorrow.
