Do Toes have Feelings?

I remember when Amara was little. I thought she had the cutest toes any baby had ever had and I loved playing “This Little Piggy” with those toes, especially when she was taking a bubble bath. And I loved tickling the bottom of those feet!

OK, so I still love tickling those feet but now I live in fear of those toes. Amara has the longest toe nails and they are lethal! Especially when she doesn’t have socks on and you are in the midst of a tickle fight, she will get you! When she gets excited she has no control over those feet. They just flail and go every where. I had been teasing her about her toe nails last weekend so when we got around to that bubble bath I made her “Let me look at those toe nails”.

We were playing and now — it was on! I gasped and told her that “those toe nails are so long and so strong you could cut meat with them!” She doesn’t even miss a beat, she comes right back with “Grandma, how dare you say that in front of my toes! You will hurt their feelings.” I am cracking up when I hear Grampy burst out laughing. He was sitting in the office down the hall and had overheard all of this! We have relived this moment over and over since last weekend. Those silly amaraism moments are even better because I can relive them all with him.

That is so funny!!! Amara has certainly gotten her Grama Kc’s sense of humor! Tell Amara that Uncle Mark thinks my toenails are too long. He suggests that I schedule a pedicure so I can be ‘declawed’! I think I will tell him he hurt my toes feelings!! Love you all!!!

Oh Amara will just love it if you repeat that back to Mark and you know I will tell her. I do love that she is just silly and funny sometimes. 7 is really a great age.

I really am pretty silly, especially with her! Sometimes gets out of hand when her Mom is around!

They really do! I think her Mom said equally funny things. I was just to busy being Mom at the time to write them down.

Won’t she love to read about such sillies when she grows up and most of life is so serious. It will stir such sweetness in her when she remembers.

I love the things the grandkids say. You just never know what they’re going to say. I’m thinking maybe it’s time for Grandma and Amara to go for pedicures, thus resulting in shorter toenails.

I wish we had a recording of her saying it. The mock outrage combined with her little-girl voice was perfect.

What a silly, silly girl! Always a hoot for you and Grampy, I’m sure. I love itsy bitsy baby toes…but must admit once they look like grown up toes, I’m not all that big a fan of feet. Maybe that’ll change when those big toes belong to my grandsons.

Thank you for sharing on the GRAND Social. Always a chuckle when I check in on you and Amara!

Amara is quick! I would have thought of something cute to say way after the conversation had ended! My little Willow didn’t like me “cutting” her nails and would cry whenever it was time to do so. I finally figured out that the “cutting” part was scaring her! Now we trim, not cut 🙂
