Amara give WC a new American flag

WC Fields sits on our front porch to greet everyone and has a very special place in Grampy’s heart. Grampy had a statue of WC Fields for the longest time and it had seen better days. When Grampy and I moved to this house Amara’s wonderful mother and my most awesome daughter tried very hard to find him a new WC Fields statue. This one is not exactly the same but he loves it even more than the original because Jenna worked so hard to find it for him.

Amara and WC wave their flags

A few years ago we ended up putting an American flag in WC’s hand. The curl of his red coat holds it perfectly in place. But sitting on our front porch in the warm California sunshine his latest flag has really faded and Independence Day seemed like the perfect time to replace it. I was with Amara and her Mommy when I bought the new one but I waited until Saturday when Amara was here so that she could be the one to give him his new flag. She was so happy I waited!
