Kisses for Grandma

This is another edition of Previously on Amara and is taken in part from an email that I sent to my Baby Sister on January 21, 2008. Amara would soon be 4 years old and was getting a little more outspoken.

The other day I was over at the Kids and Amara was in her room. She was in there pouting because Mommy wouldn’t let her have more candy. I was getting ready to leave so I called to her to come out and give me a kiss goodbye. She calls back very defiantly “No”. I thought this would work to cheer her up as she usually likes the going home rituals and would want to send Grampy and the cats their pokes and pets. So I’m out there begging “Please come kiss Grandma”. “No”. “Please!” “No”. “I really need a kiss” I said and she yells back — “Mommy! Kiss Grandma!” I thought Mommy and I were both going to roll on the floor laughing! It was to funny. In the end I got kisses from both of them.

Amara when she was still little

I can’t believe how quickly she is growing up.

Kisses can make the day, in so many ways! These are indeed sweet memories. Maybe one day you can compile your fave posts into a book. (There’s a company that makes hardcovers from blog posts you just import into their program, including the photos. I’ll have to look it up and send you the link.)

That is too funny. They definitely have personalities very young. My granddaughter, standing in the way of my husband’s view of the television screen, furled her eyebrows, frowned, and answered his request that she scoot over with, “I’m not going to move.” And she didn’t budge. She wasn’t much bigger than a bug at the time. We, too, found it hard not to laugh.
