Looking Back

This will be Amara’s 11th Thanksgiving. We don’t always get to spend the actual day with her and her parents but we are very lucky to get to see them all the time! We have so many great memories (and pictures). It really is fun to look back on each of those Novembers and see just how much our little girl has grown!

You can click the picture below to make them larger.

This Thanksgiving we are all spending at her home. The Kids are deep frying a turkey and it will probably be the best Thanksgiving yet. I hope you enjoy yours!

It amazes me how quickly the last 10+ years have gone. I really am glad we are close by to watch it all happen. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, too.

Loved the pictures of Amara over the years. It seems like only yesterday she was so little.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our family in sunny Southern California! We sure wish you were here (or better yet, we were there)!! xoxo

I am so glad I have my camera and that Daddy instilled the photography bug deep inside me! I am so glad we have so many pictures.

I do wish you could have been here for Thanksgiving. It was in the mid 80s and just a wonderful day. So much good food! Jenna usually brings your sweet potatoes to Thanksgiving with Justin’s family but since she was doing the turkey and stuff I did your potatoes this year. Jenna always makes them without the pecans as she and Justin don’t like nuts. Since there would be 14 of us for dinner I made 2 big pans – 1 with pecans and 1 without because I love the pecans. Justin’s sister had 3 helpings of the ones with pecans and told Jenna she had been holding out on them all these years and she will now be required to make them both ways! She just loved them. I brought the pecan one home with us and had more cold for dessert last night! Yum!

Over the years, Amara has grown beautifully – adding height and hair length. But one thing has remained constant – her radiant signature smile! I’m sure it’s hiding in that first picture too!
I wish a blessed Thanksgiving to you, Grampy, Jenna, Justin, your assortment of cats and dogs and of course, the lovely little princess herself, in celebration of 11 years of gratitude for her charming presence in your life!

The time has absolutely flown. I know it took much longer than this for her Mom to go from birth to 10.

Good Luck with your exams. I know you will do great!

I do love my camera! It is such fun to be able to go back and look at all the younger versions of her but then you understand! I bet you will have the boys lives well documented for them, too!

Fastest 10+ years ever! I sometimes think that Karma is giving me a wonderful life as a Grandma to make up for all the struggles of my own childhood.

Well the turkey ended up being too big for the deep fryer so the kids roasted it and it was the best turkey ever! They had brined it in preparation for deep frying and I don’t know if that was what did it or just the turkey itself but wow was it moist and delicious! I could use a piece about now myself. That is the only bad part about not hosting Thanksgiving, no leftovers!

It was a wonderful Thanksgiving Sarah. The best part may have been when each of the 3 cousins got up and sang us a song! I swear grandchildren grow faster than regular kids!

Wow, how time flies. She’s a beautiful young lady, I know you’re proud. I’m loving the picture of her in the lime green pants. She’s growing up.

Jenna was complaining just the other day that the new pants she got Amara are already to short — I had to laugh as I went through the same thing with Jenna! At least now they make pants so you can adjust the waist more, they didn’t have that back when Jenna was a youngster.
