Another SnowVenture

Yesterday I told you about part one of our Christmas. Today I bring you part two!

Amara must have asked me at least three times if the Snow had arrived yet. I reassured her it had arrived, been wrapped and was under the Christmas tree for her and Fred to open the day after Christmas. I guess Fred had asked his parents about the snow, too.

Fred and his parents always join us for Christmas dinner the day after Christmas. For the last 4 years, I have gotten Fred and Amara instant snow. There was almost a crisis last year when I thought they were probably bored with it and I wasn’t going to order any. Crisis averted thanks to Amazon! Needless to say, I now order in advance!

Last year’s SnowVenture included the addition of food coloring to the snow. So of course, they wanted to do that again. I told them they could each take one color but since they wanted blue we just had blue snow – of course they used up two bottles of blue food coloring! I am so glad I was the one taking most of the pictures. The kids are really respectful whenever I have the camera in my hand. They always love chasing Fred’s Mom and they did an exceptional job of that this year. Not to mention that Amara got Grampy really good!

Enough of telling you about it I am just going let you look at the pictures.

Winter Wonderland! What crazy fun! I love it when parents (and grandparents!) don’t think they are “too cool” to get out there and act goofy with the kids! I can’t imagine Amara ever growing tired of her snow. We could have used some of it this year, too. It came a few days after Christmas. The day just didn’t feel the same without it!
I enjoyed the picture series, and glad, at the end, to see one smiling happy family!

My goodness but the smiles have to be worth every penny paid for that snow, and it doesn’t have to be shoveled. It’s interesting looking at how much taller Amara and Fred are this year. They’re growing up, but what a special tradition you guys have going. Wonderful to have friends like that. 🙂

You are a fabulous grandma (hiding behind the camera)! I don’t think I’d give my Grands access to food coloring. Luckily, we don’t have to “make” snow! Loved the fun pics. Happy 2016!

You didn’t know eleven years ago that you needed to buy stock in food coloring I take it. I fear I am a camera carrier, as it keeps me out of the pictures as well. Happy New Year.

You should start a new tradition & come to Michigan for real snow! Great photos! Looks like you were having a blast!

Amara might like it but Grampy and I aren’t keen on the idea. I remember how cold it used to get! As for the photos, I love looking back on them and really seeing how much fun the kids were having. Makes me smile!

It looks like she had so much fun that is awesome… One day she will probably want to go north see the actual snow… I have seen so much of it that I no longer have a desire to see it anymore… lol…

Although, blue or maybe purple colored snow would be cool xox

Have a very Happy New Year with lots of joy and success xox

Amara has “gone to the snow” with her parents a few times. Her other grandparents often rent a cabin and she goes and has fun throwing snowballs at her cousins! Happy New Year!
